During this Science unit of Adaptations, the children became experts in how and why a camel survives in the desert and investigated why other animals wouldn't.

As the unit progressed, the children's learning was focused around survival of the fittest. To understand the process of food chains and prey and predators, the children became the animals and hunted their prey but also had to hide from their predators. 

Once the children had gathered all the knowledge of how animals survive and adapt, they were then given the task to design a species to live in a particular habitat. They then used their art skills to create a clay sculpture of their species.
