Digital Blast

From consumers to producers

Year 5 have had the privilege of working with a Manchester- based digital marketing firm. Digital Adventure are leading us on a project that will see Year 5 go from consuming media to producing professional content! The children have been planning and conducting interviews based around 'Aspirations'.

We started by going to the Digital Blast headquarters for a 'day of work' which the children really excelled at. Ezra, the leader at Digital Blast, commented on the professionalism of the children. He was amazed and couldn't believe he was working with with children and not seasoned professionals!

The children had their first taste of being media producers and they couldn't wait to sink their teeth in to more!

Digital Blast comes to Cathedral

After we visited Digital Blast, we invited Ezra and his team to come to school. Here we decided on how to link sixty years of local history. There was only one option... school dinners!

It was decided that no matter the aspirations had by children throughout the years, they all had the shared experience of school dinners. Whether it was scrambling to get to the front of the queue, waiting and hoping for an extra portion of jam roly-poly or the dramatic rise and fall of the turkey twizzler, everyone has a vivid memory from the canteen.

So it was decided, we were primed and ready to start pre-production on may very well be the most exciting project in the school's history...
