What do you know about the number 2476?

Use your place value knowledge to find the related number facts and complete the grid.

Answers will be given next week!

Magic Triangle Problem

You can either print off the worksheet and cut the numbers out, or draw it on paper and write the numbers in.

You can only use the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

Challenge 1- make each side of the triangle add up to 9.

Challenge 2 - make each side of the triangle add up to 10.

Are there any other totals each side could have? Let me know what you discover!

Problem Solving: How many triangles? 

Remember the properties of a triangle - 3 sides and 3 vertices (corners).

How many can you find in the triangle diagram given? You might want to use coloured pencils to help you record the ones you spot.

2 Player addition game: Pass the Paper

A game for 2 or more players You will need:

 One piece of paper for each player

 A different coloured pen or pencil for each player

 A random number generator (dice, app, playing cards, bingo balls etc.) that creates numbers within the children’s ability. If you search Random Number Generator on Google, it brings up the following where you can enter the minimum and maximum values.

 

As a guide, Year 4 should use step sizes up to 100; with a target number of up to 10,000.

Place Value Game:

A game for 1 or more players You will need:

 A game board per player (either printed off or drawn)

 Number cards (printed off or written out) or a random number generator (dice, app, playing cards, bingo balls etc.) that creates numbers within the children’s ability. If you search Random Number Generator on Google, it brings up the following where you can enter the minimum and maximum values.

 

As a guide, Year 4 should use numbers up to 10,000 (or printed sets I, B, C, D, E, F or G).
