Class Saints

It has been wonderful to see how our children have embraced their new class saints this year.

Already in just our first four weeks, we have celebrated three Feast days!

- Year 4 have considered how they can show Love in Action in how the behave towards others following Mother Teresa's example

Year 1 have explored St Terese of Lisieux's Little Way—the lesson that you do not need to do grand, heroic deeds to be holy, but can instead show great love through small, everyday actions.

Reception have celebrated St Francis for his Care for all of Creation, through hands on crafts helping them to become stewards of God's world.

Ask your child today about their class saint!

As we enter October, I want to take a moment to express how incredibly proud I am of our school community. Walking through the corridors this week, the energy and enthusiasm for learning have been truly wonderful to see. From the brilliant focus in our classrooms to the kindness and teamwork on the playground, our students continue to model our school values every single day.

Thank you to you all.

Follow Us on Instagram

You can now follow us on Instagram at @thecathedral.sch to keep up to date with all the wonderful things happening across our school.

We will be sharing classroom activities, celebrations, special events, trips, achievements and examples of the fantastic learning taking place across school.

Please request to follow our page and we will approve your request. If your request has not been approved yet please message the page with your children's names to enable school to verify the account.

We look forward to sharing more of our school life with you.

You may have noticed that since we have returned to school, we've been changing the way we share images of our children online.

As part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding, we're adapting how we celebrate school life in response to growing concerns around the use and manipulation of children's images, including through AI.

This doesn't mean we'll stop sharing the wonderful moments happening in school.

It simply means we've changed the angle.

Special Shout Out

A huge well done to the pupils who represented our school in a football match after school this week!

We were so proud to receive some lovely feedback from the opposing school, who were particularly impressed by our pupils' attitude, enthusiasm and team spirit. The team never gave up and continued to show great determination, finishing the match strongly and really growing in confidence as the game went on.

Our pupils were described as a credit to school which is fantastic to hear!

They listened beautifully and were really engaged throughout. Our visitor was highly complimentary about our behaviour, enthusiasm and participation, which was wonderful to hear!

If your child is interested in learning to play the guitar, we would encourage you to sign up. Information leaflets have been sent home with pupils with details on how to register or please follow the link for more information: https://wecreatemusic.co.uk/

There will be a Eucharistic Healing Service at Salford Cathedral with Fr Frankie Mulgrew. Following the inspiring feedback from our previous service, and in response to a number of requests, we are delighted to hold another Eucharistic Healing Service on Friday 16th October at 7.30pm.
