Year 4 have been exploring Philosophy for Children. Philosophy for children plays a key role in developing communication and social skills. It requires them to explore various topics and discuss a variety of questions.

It helps us to nurture children who

  • are good listeners
  • have empathy and respect for others
  • challenge and question
  • give evidence and reasons
  • are creative, caring, collaborative and critical thinkers

Year 4 have taken part in Philosophical enquiries and have discussed questions that they themselves have posed. Questions have included - Should you be punished for stealing food if you are starving?

Should games and APPs have age restrictions?

Is it always wrong to lie for your own benefit?
