Rosa Parks

As part of our 'Movers and Shakers' history topic, Year 2 have been learning about a significant people from history. One of many people we researched was an activist called Rosa Parks.

We discovered that only a few decades ago, black and white people were segregated. Rosa Parks thought this was wrong and she began to take a stand for her beliefs.

Year 2 used a variety of sources to collect information about Rosa Parks and created our own information texts.

Rosa Parks said, “It is better to teach or live equality and love… than to have hatred and prejudice.” By her actions she taught people that no matter your colour, everyone should be treated equally. We created a colourful piece of collective artwork to represent this.
