Galilee to Jerusalem
In Year 1, we have now completed our Religious Education unit Galilee to Jerusalem. To deepen our understanding, the children revisited key moments from the life of Jesus through role play. They acted out The Birth of Jesus (Luke 2:1–20), The Presentation in the Temple (Luke 2:22–38), Jesus Announces His Mission (Luke 4:14–21), Jesus Calls the Fishermen (Luke 5:1–11) and Jesus Meets Zacchaeus (Luke 19:1–9).
Through drama, the children explored how Jesus was sent to bring hope, call others to follow him and show love and forgiveness to everyone. It was wonderful to see the children confidently retelling these important Gospel stories and bringing Scripture to life through their actions and words.
