Maths with Mrs Dickinson

During January, Year 6 were lucky enough to work with Mr Dickinson (a mathematical consultant) to broaden their knowledge of maths using pattern and mental arithmetic strategies.

The session included work on repeated patterns and multiples. Activities included looking at a pattern of 7 shapes and working out which shape would be in the 100th position.

Once the children understood the process, they were able to tackle other similar problems using other times tables.

Bernie said, “The lesson was so much fun and I really enjoyed learning new ways to investigate my times tables.

I am really looking forward to Mr Dickinson coming back to our class."
