  • The Little Red Hen

    Have you heard of the story of The Little Red Hen? Well you will not have read any version as good as Year 6's. Over a couple of weeks, the children have turned the traditional young children's story in to a more interesting and detailed version.

    The process began with the children choosing vocabulary to describe the characters.

    From this, Year 6 created detailed character descriptions using expanded noun phrases. 
    Next the children created story maps to plan the structure. They annotated them with verbs and adjectives to use when writing.

    The final stage was to write the story including the imaginative vocabulary they had learned. This was then edited using the checklist and feedback from Mrs Reid.
