Hail Mary

The Hail Mary

Hail, Mary,

full of grace,

the Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou among women

Holy Mary,

Mother of God,

pray for us sinners,

now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

The first part of the Hail Mary is biblical, drawn from Gabriel’s greeting to Mary at the Annunciation and Elizabeth’s greeting at the Visitation. The second part of the prayer has its origins in 15th-century Ital
