Black History Month
In Year 4, we researched Walter Tull for Black History Month. After researching about Walter's life, we made a shield to represent him. Our shields have four quadrants that included his Football career, his time in the Army, information about his life and death and the awards he received.
Walter Tull was one of England's first black professional Footballers and one of the first black men in the British Army to become an Officer in World War I. He was later recommended a Military Cross Medal, however he was killed in action before he could receive his medal. Walter Tull was an important figure in history.
