Ancient Greek Pottery

Ancient Greek Pottery

During our Art lessons this half term we have been looking at Ancient Greek Pottery. We have learnt a great deal about the Ancient Greeks from their vases as the pictures painted on them show what daily life would have been like in Ancient Greece. Their vases also show a range of games that would have been played at the Olympics.

We started by sketching from photographs of a range of vases. We identified the images and patterns we liked from the vases so that we could design our own.

Before half term we made our vases using clay and left them to dry over the holiday. This week we painted them using authentic colours ready to add the patters and detail in black next week.

So far they look fantastic so make sure to keep an eye on our page to find out how they turn out!
