National Curriculum Requirement for Swimming

      Year 6 cohort for academic year 2021/22

  • 100% of all pupils can swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres.
  • 96% (24/25) of pupils can use a range of strokes effectively, for example, front crawl, backstroke and breaststroke 1/25 uses front crawl only.
  • 88% (22/25)  perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations
