Skipton Castle

Year 1 visited Skipton Castle to launch our learning about castles.

 

We were surprised to find out that Skipton Castle is one of the best preserved medieval castles in England - over 900 years old!

 

We explored the massive fortress, climbed the ancient spiral staircases, and enjoyed the view of Skipton's busy streets from the top of the Watch Tower.  We visited the Conduit Court with its 350 year old Yew tree, and finely balanced fear with excitement as we entered down into the dungeons!
