Alice in Wonderland

We have been focusing on a classic text, Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.. We have used the first chapter of the text 'Down the Rabbit Hole' to create out own list poems. We have discussed poetic devices and have structured our poems into stanzas to represent each stage of our fall to Wonderland.

Year Three were very lucky to have received a letter from the Mad Hatter, it even had a tea stain on it from one of his tea cups. the letter was persuading us to come to his tea party and we were very excited. We were instantly persuaded to attend the tea party at first, but after reading to Queen of Hearts would also be in attendance we quickly changed our minds. We discussed the features of persuasive writing using the Mad Hatters letter as a model example. We then created our own persuasive letters inviting other classes to attend our Mad Hatter Tea party.
