Homework Challenges

Each half term your child will receive a Challenge sheet.

Together you can choose 2 challenges to complete each week. Some tasks are short and some are more involved, and will take longer to complete. You can complete them in any order, giving flexibility to fit with your busy lives, while ensuring you have the opportunity to support your child's learning at home.

We recommend you complete one Mathematics and one English based activity each week for a balance.

Homework books will be collected every Tuesday, giving children the opportunity to share their work in class.

It is expected that your child will read their home reader every night at home and practise their timestables and number facts.

Number fact sheets are available below to practise.

It is expected that your child will know these instantly and therefore not need to calculate the answers. This will help them to use their mathematical fluency to solve problems.

Your child should already be familiar with their 2, 5 and 10 timestables and this year will be learning their 3 timestable.   Your child has access to Timestables Rockstars to practise.
