Problem Solving

Problem solving is an important part of mathematics! This is when we use the skills we have to solve problems.

Year 3 were presented with a number of challenges that they had to solve as a team.

First they explored and discussed the problem
Next they used trial and error to find a strategy
Finally they used the strategy and reflected on the solution.

They were very pleased to discover that by persevering and discussing the problems they could effectively find an answer.
