Finish This!
Year 6 have been collaborating on a project called Finish This! The aim of the project is to compose and record a piece of music to complete an unfinished piece.
The theme of the music is based on the sound of colours. At first, the children listened to music which represented the colour yellow, red and blue. By learning about the role of a composer and following their writing techniques, the children were tasked to choosing a new colour to create music for.
The choice of colour came from colour charts and the children explored the variety of colours available. Once they had decided on their colour, the children created a libretto (word cloud) of words they associated with the colour.
The next step was to then create a graphic score which uses images to plan the sounds that will be created for the music piece. The children used a selection of instruments and garage band sounds to complete the graphic score.
