The latest installment of Reasoning Club with Mr Dickinson
Fractions, Decimals and Percentages Challenge
To extend our learning in FDP equivalents, the children chose teams to compete in mini FDP challenges. The stop watch was set and each challenge was to be completed as quickly as possible. Each team had to work together to find matching FDP equivalents in a variety of ways.
The children rotated round each challenge adding their completed time to the scoreboard. The winners of each challenge were announced at the end of the lesson.
A Mathematical Christmas!
Year 6 completed their Christmas shopping early this year with a challenging Maths task with Mr Dickinson. The children had to use their known number facts and times tables to work out how much each present cost. They used a variety of methods and all completed the challenge - Christmas shopping complete!
