Science

In Science we are learning about sound.

We have identified that sound is made through vibrations and that it travels in waves. We completed some experiments to see if sound can travel through solids, liquids and gases. We found that it can travel through all of them but it travels fastest in solids and liquids because the particles are closer together for the vibrations to bounce off. We also did an experiment to test the vibrations. We put rice on a drum and hit another drum which caused the rice to move. The rice moved because the vibrations of the sound bounced off it.

We are looking forward to more investigations and by using our scientific skills we will test pitch, volume and how to block sound.
