Skellig

Year 6 have been exploring the story of Skellig. At the beginning of the story we are introduced to the main character having a tough time at a new home. The children looked at his character and discussed what it would be like to be in his position.

As the story moves on, we see the character explore the eerie seething of a shed where he meets an unnamed figure.

Through art and writing the children described the setting of the shed.

The used charcoal and shading to create the mysterious and nerving setting.

In their writing, the children used a mix of action and description to create the tense atmosphere of the shed setting. Once written, the children used different colour pencils to highlight the action and description to check there was a good mix to achieve a tense piece of writing.
