Year 6 had an important visit from the Fire Service to discuss the importance of safety during halloween and bonfire night. The fire crew discussed with the children the potential dangers, how to avoid them and what to do if there is an emergency.
The children were made aware just how dangerous fireworks can be and that the GMFS encourage people to visit a professional event rather than set off fireworks at home.
Once the important information had been shared, the crew showed the children the uniform and protective gear that they use in emergencies and one luck Year 6 child modelled this to the rest of the class! A possible fire officer in the making perhaps!
