Owl Babies
We have been reading the story Owl Babies written by Martin Waddel and Patrick Benson. Children were asked questions about the setting and the characters in the book (the owl mother, Sarah, Percy and Bill) as well as them being encouraged to make predictions about the story. The children were given opportunities to re-enact the story in the book area using puppets.
A letter to the Owl mother.
The mark making area contained some letter writing resources to enable the children to pretend they were one of the owlets (Sarah, Percy or Bill). Using their mark making skills they would write a letter to their owl mother.
