What fun the children had at RHS Bridgewater! We began by looking at the lifecycle of a plant and what plants need to grow. The children were able to experience the feel of a cactus and deciduous and evergreen trees. We worked in groups to look at different types of trees including an oak tree, we found acorns that had fallen from the tree and measured its trunk.
During our visit we had the opportunity to see lots of different plants, flowers and even vegetables. We also spent time in a greenhouse and planted some lettuce leave seeds!
What a fantastic time we had at the Firehouse museum, we impressed the staff with our knowledge of the Great fire of London but there was still lots of new learning to experience. During our visit we looked at artefacts from the Great fire such as a hook, a leather bucket, a burnt brick and a squirt! James, our guide, talked about the fire brigade through history and demonstrated how equipment was used.
We had so much fun dressing up, sitting in a fire engine and sliding down a pole!
