Once Upon a Time...
The Little Red Hen
We read the story of The Little Red Hen and decided, unlike the lazy animals in the story, that we would all do some of the work to bake some bread. We worked hard sieving, mixing, stirring and kneading the dough ready to be baked and all tried a piece of our tasty loaf. 'It was delicious!' Ruby commented.
The Three Little Pigs
There was a lot of huffing and puffing in Reception this term as we learnt the story of the Three Little Pigs. We acted out the story through role-play and made maps of the pigs houses to talk through what happened to the poor, pestered pigs. We decided we could try some different materials to build houses to keep the pigs safe from the wolf. We tested them to see which designs worked the best.
