Welcome to Nursery 2025-2026!

Welcome to our newest members of The Cathedral School! We hope our class page gives you a flavour of the wonderful things Nursery get up to over their first year of school. Starting EYFS is an exciting time full of new experiences and new friends.  Our class teacher is Miss Doolan and our teaching assistants are Miss Poll and Miss Clarke. 

Our nursery is a nurturing environment where we can learn, play, explore, investigate and most importantly, have fun! We are really looking forward to the journey ahead and following our mission statement:

'Growing together within God's loving family, we support, challenge and inspire each other to become the best that we can be.'

We would like to remind our school community that we are a nut-free school. This policy is in place to protect the health and safety of our students.

One of our pupils in Nursery has a severe nut allergy, which means that even a small trace of nuts can cause a serious allergic reaction. To ensure their safety, we kindly ask that no nuts or nut-containing products are brought into school. This includes items such as:

• Peanut butter or Nutella sandwiches

• Snack bars or biscuits containing nuts

• Chocolates or sweets with nut ingredients

General Reminders...

• Doors open at 8.40 am for a 8.45 am start. The school gates open at 3 pm for pick up. 
• If you would like to speak to a staff member at pick up or arrival, we kindly ask that you please wait until all children are dismissed. The safety of our children is our top priority.
• Toast and milk are payable half termly in advance.
• All money to be paid using Parent Pay.
• Please make sure you send your child in with a water bottle each day and a spare change of clothes (we love all things messy play in EYFS!)
• Please ensure all clothing is labelled with your child's full name.
• Drawstring bags or book bags only please!
• We are a healthy eating school. Please ensure your child's packed lunch is in line with our healthy eating policy. This includes only  water. Other juices are not permitted.
