Long, Long, Ago...

The children have been learning about the past by accessing activities in their environment such as, Wash Week, Dinosaurs, fossil hunting in the sand, writing with quills and chalk as well as playing games from the past including snakes and ladders, Dominoes and Tiddly Winks.

There have also been opportunities to learn though:

Music (dancing to different genres...pop, rock and roll, classical).

Art  (we have been painting portraits inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa and portraits of people from the past).

Stories such as The Tiger Who Came to Tea and fairytales (children have constructed castles, sang songs and reinacted stories through role play)

Their own story: We have discussed family, friends and memories from home and school. The children have enjoyed looking at their own learning journey in Religion, Literacy (stories we have read) and Understanding of the World.

This has  been an amazing topic because the children have heard lots of interesting information about the families of their friends and their local area.

The children have also had a lot of fun playing 'Guess the Baby', the children were very good at this however, I think they were given lots of clues from their friends 😊
