Year 6 took park in a Shakespeare workshop led by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. They focused on the play 'Twelfth Night' where they looked closely at the characters, plot and themes.
Below are some examples of the children introducing themselves as the characters.
Next the children focused on the emotions of the characters throughout the story and created an emoti-graph to show the changes throughout the play. The children then used their puppetry skills to recreate parts of the play focusing on stage directions and performance.
KS2 had the fantastic opportunity to watch a performance of Macbeth. The Manchester Actors Company transformed the hall into a theatre and put on an amazing performance. Year 6 were particularly hooked as this is the text they have been studying recently. After the performance, the children were able to interview the actors on the characters and their life as an actor.
